The Review Desk

“If there is a book that you want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.” — Toni Morrison

Not every book we want to read has been written yet. But plenty of them have, and once we find one, we like to spend a little time figuring out what makes it tick! At The Reader Life, our reviews go beyond the plot and the star rating. We look closely at the writing, characters, themes, ideas, and those little moments that make a book linger in your mind long after you’ve turned the final page.

Book Review Requests

Authors, publishers, and publicists are welcome to contact us about having a book considered for review.

We review fiction and nonfiction across a range of genres, including literary fiction, psychological thrillers, contemporary fiction, classics, romance, young adult, and more.

When getting in touch, please include:

  • Book title and author
  • Genre
  • Short description
  • Publication date
  • Available format
  • Link to the book
  • Any relevant information about the author or publisher

Please note that a review request does not guarantee publication or a positive review. Books are selected based on their relevance to our readers, our editorial interests, and our availability.

Reviews & Paid Opportunities

Alongside our independent editorial reviews, we also offer paid promotional and feature opportunities for authors, publishers, and relevant book-related businesses.

Paid collaborations are treated separately from our independent reviews, and the nature of the partnership will be clearly identified where appropriate.

If you’d like to discuss a book review or collaboration, get in touch at hello@thereaderlife.com.
